Static Caravan vs a villa
In basic terms a Villa is a extra large caravan…. At a minimum of 13ft wide the Villa range offers super-spacious static caravan holiday home models which have been specially selected for their enhanced layout and decor. Villas are an ideal model if you need more than average space and desire higher levels of comfort and interior finish.
THE VILLA
Has a large open plan kitchen/living room with Netflix, Disney, Sky and Amazon TV and good working WiFi. 2 large sofas with 1 sofa that pulls out to become an extra double bed when 6 people are required.
All of the kitchen amenities, fire place, central heating, cooling fans, dining table. Microwave, gas cooker and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Double doors lead out to the extensive wrap around decking, BBQ area and a dining table that transforms into either a large sun bed or a coffee table.
The beach is on your doorstep, with less than 100m to the beach our accommodation comes with use of the paddle board and 3man kayak.
Master bedroom is complete with a king size bed, bedside tables, TV and make up table. It also has an en-suite and walk in wardrobe.
2 good sized bathrooms each with toilets, sinks and large showers. We put out 1 bath towel per guest, more are available in the wardrobe. Please bring your own beach towels.
Picking your location .... east vs west mersea..
The Holiday Park is the newest and quietest park on Mersea Island. You will not have a problem with noise. Please look at trip advisor reviews for the other parks on the island… you will 100% enjoy your holiday more at West Mersea Holiday Park than any other.
Our park is the only park that is walking distance to the restaurants and pubs.
There is a restaurant on the beach front 100m from the villa and a brand new children’s play area
Guest Access
Guests have sole, private use of the Villa; we do not book several guests at once.
On arrival we ask that you park at the sales reception parking. Our decking is straight in front of you!
Come inside and collect your fob for the parking barrier, then simply drive around to our private parking on the left of the Villa.

7 Walks of Mersea Island
Mersea Island is the perfect place for walking, whether you would like a short stroll or a longer walk along the “Strood Channel”, there are plenty of beautiful views and an abundance of wildlife to see along the way. The link below gives 7 wonderful walks, ranging from 1.5mile to 10mile.
Try the Seafood!
Mersea Island is world famous for its Oysters but lets not forget the crab, lobster, fish, mussels, tiger prawns and more. Everything you eat would have been freshly caught locally and the island has an abundance of seafood restaurants including Dukes Sea Food, The Company Shed, The Oyster Bar to name just a few. Information about our suggestions are found further down.


Boat Trips Around the Marshes
Ranging from a brilliant 20 minute boat trip to a full day, around West Mersea marshes with great views of seals, birds, especially waders and wildfowl. Bargain price from as little as £3 per person. Great for birders or anyone who fancies a little jaunt round the marshes. Suitable for families.

Indoor Swimming Pool
Situated at Away Resorts East Mersea Holiday Park. The indoor swimming pool is available on weekends only, 10am – 5pm. It has a transparent conservatory-style roof over the top so you can still enjoy some Vitamin D.


Outdoor Swimming Pool
Situated at Waldegraves Holiday Park. The outdoor heated swimming pool is open May to September, weather permitting. There is a separate toddler pool for the little ones to enjoy splashing in the water. You can relax in the sun on a deckchair in the garden overlooking the pool and enjoy refreshments from the poolside bar.
Visit to the Vineyard
Pop to the vineyard for a wine tour to never forget. The vineyard grows 4 primary varieties of grape including Muller Thurgau , Ortega, Reichensteiner and Solaris and all of the wines are used to produce their own wine. Walk away with bottles of your favourite tastes from their wine shop and coffee shop. Lunch there is great and they have lots of cakes to offer.


Watersport Adventures
Colchester Zoo
Renowned as one of the UK’s best Zoo’s, this 60 acre animal park has all of the kids favourite animals… over 220 different species to be precise. With unique experiences like ‘become a zookeeper for the day’ and personal elephant or giraffe feeding sessions, this Zoo has it all. Our advice is to book in advance!


Beth Chatto Gardens
Take a breath taking walk around the award winning educational trusts Beth Chatto Gardens. The gardens are made up of five main areas, including the peaceful Beth Chatto Woodland Garden, the Water Garden and the Scree Garden, which is full of plants that grow on stony, mountainous slopes.
Maldon Splash Park
Family fun at Maldon Promenade Park is a great day out for all. Activities include the Splash Park, Adventure Golf, Children’s Sand Pits, Ornamental Lake, Fountains, Woodland, Wildlife and Refreshment Kiosks
